Jonathan Stewart:

A system works well when all the components are working together.

Jonathan Stewart:

When they all fit together in a way that fits the purpose of the system.

Jonathan Stewart:

However often what I notice, when I start working with

Jonathan Stewart:

clients, is that the components of their systems aren't talking.

Jonathan Stewart:

And are being ignored.

Jonathan Stewart:

In particularly the most important component.

Jonathan Stewart:

You.

Jonathan Stewart:

You are part of the system that you created and often when you take on

Jonathan Stewart:

other people's advice, especially as is common when running a business.

Jonathan Stewart:

You're only taking a half of their system.

Jonathan Stewart:

You're missing the environment that the system they're using is in they

Jonathan Stewart:

probably have other pieces that allow them to work in this way.

Jonathan Stewart:

If you don't have those components, which nine times out of 10, you

Jonathan Stewart:

actually don't, even if you are in the same industry, you do similar

Jonathan Stewart:

things, then it's incredibly hard.

Jonathan Stewart:

If not impossible to make it work.

Jonathan Stewart:

As your needs, adapt things, drop and things change.

Jonathan Stewart:

In terms of creating a system that works for you.

Jonathan Stewart:

It's about trying to create something that fits what you want to do in your business.

Jonathan Stewart:

What you have available to you?

Jonathan Stewart:

It's no good trying to do agency work when there's just you doing everything.

Jonathan Stewart:

You've got a family and don't have much time to help manage both client

Jonathan Stewart:

interaction on the work as well.

Jonathan Stewart:

The pieces of your system should work with each other and you

Jonathan Stewart:

are a piece of that system.

Jonathan Stewart:

It's super important to get clear on what you want.

Jonathan Stewart:

As well as what you actually have the realities of the

Jonathan Stewart:

environment that you are in.

Jonathan Stewart:

We are bombarded every single day with ideas on what systems, tools, and apps

Jonathan Stewart:

we're supposed to use, but it really does lack the context and nuance

Jonathan Stewart:

and doesn't have the most important component to help things work together.

Jonathan Stewart:

When in doubt, always start from you.

Jonathan Stewart:

If you don't want to go along, I'm launching a six month program to help

Jonathan Stewart:

you figure out how to start from you.

Everyone talks about Simplicity as the WAY to do things. If you do less things, you think about less things, and therefore you can use your time more effectively. But doing less things doesn’t always feel like an option, and sometimes it doesn’t need to be an option.

Simplicity isn’t the thing you need to do first, it’s the result of knowing how you work.

You can have multiple projects and still plan other things you’re excited about!!

I help over-thinkers like you actually do shit without making you feel bad about all your projects and ideas.

I run a business, whilst running 6 D&D campaigns, looking after two disabled children (with my partner who works full time), and I’m always wanting to do more.
