Jonathan Stewart:

Foundations aren't meant to be dictated to you.

Jonathan Stewart:

You're not meant to be told what foundations are the correct foundations.

Jonathan Stewart:

If you look at the origin of the word foundations, it's all about laying

Jonathan Stewart:

the basis of and establishing to set to place to make, to lay the bottom of

Jonathan Stewart:

something and that is something that is incredibly important in your business.

Jonathan Stewart:

But it's got to be laid from a foundation of you.

Jonathan Stewart:

From the way that you work, not dictated to you by someone who

Jonathan Stewart:

doesn't understand all of the pieces and the way that you work.

Jonathan Stewart:

What is it that you love to do?

Jonathan Stewart:

How do you work best when you're helping your clients?

Jonathan Stewart:

Is it through one-to-one calls or is it through Voxer or other tools?

Jonathan Stewart:

Now there will be times where there are things you gotta do

Jonathan Stewart:

when you don't want to do them.

Jonathan Stewart:

That is obviously part of what you have in business.

Jonathan Stewart:

But when that happens, how can you make it as easy for you as possible?

Jonathan Stewart:

What foundation can you use to support you in doing something that you may not

Jonathan Stewart:

enjoy quite as much, and that allows you to get back to doing what you do love.

Jonathan Stewart:

What foundations can you put in place that fit the way that you work?

Jonathan Stewart:

A good example of this for me is this podcast.

Jonathan Stewart:

I adore making videos however, the amount of time, it takes

Jonathan Stewart:

me to edit it 's not fun.

Jonathan Stewart:

I don't enjoy it.

Jonathan Stewart:

Whereas this podcast allows me to just hit record.

Jonathan Stewart:

I don't have to worry about how I look and how I feel.

Jonathan Stewart:

I can just hit record and have it in here.

Jonathan Stewart:

I love that on previous episodes, I use tools to support me in that way.

Jonathan Stewart:

Currently I'm recording in de script, which means I just have to

Jonathan Stewart:

come in, open it up, press record.

Jonathan Stewart:

And I've also got preset.

Jonathan Stewart:

Things that just make life easier for me.

Jonathan Stewart:

So I press a couple of buttons.

Jonathan Stewart:

And automatically I have a publishable episode.

Jonathan Stewart:

Your foundations are based on the way that you work.

Jonathan Stewart:

And that starts from what you want, what you have and what you want to do.

Jonathan Stewart:

There are so many things that we have to do on a daily basis as business owners.

Jonathan Stewart:

And sometimes it's easy just to go, oh, I have to do this

Jonathan Stewart:

because somebody else told me to.

Jonathan Stewart:

Don't want to go it alone, reach out to me at simplicity.

Jonathan Stewart:

Everyone talks about Simplicity as the WAY to do things. If you do less things, you think about less things, and therefore you can use your time more effectively. But doing less things doesn’t always feel like an option, and sometimes it doesn’t need to be an option.

Simplicity isn’t the thing you need to do first, it’s the result of knowing how you work.

You can have multiple projects and still plan other things you’re excited about!!

I help over-thinkers like you actually do shit without making you feel bad about all your projects and ideas.

I run a business, whilst running 6 D&D campaigns, looking after two disabled children (with my partner who works full time), and I’m always wanting to do more.
